Este pequeño texto es el post número 250 de Nutcracker Man, un número redondo al igual que los 5 años que hoy cumple este blog. Posiblemente este último ha sido el año más duro, porque estoy embarcado en el precioso proyecto de escribir mi primer libro, pero no quise dejar de lado el blog. Por fin el libro está terminado, ¡pronto verá la luz!

Mientras tanto, agradezco mucho que me estés leyendo, y espero que el blog te resulte útil. Estamos profundizando de forma extraordinaria en el entendimiento de la evolución humana, y es un privilegio poder divulgarlo aquí. Recordemos las novedades tan solo de las últimas tres semanas: una nueva especie Homo luzonensis, un nuevo cráneo del Pleistoceno Medio asiático procedente de Hualongdong (China), la primera mandíbula de un denisovano en Xiahe que nos acerca mucho más al conocimiento de ese grupo humano (¿especie?), nuevas características de la bipedación de Ardipithecus ramidus, la explotación del águila real por los neandertales de forma recurrente en el tiempo, la detección de una especie «fantasma» de simio antepasada del bonobo y del chimpancé común, en la época en que los linajes neandertal y sapiens también estaban divergiendo, e incluso la huella humana más antigua de América. Y pronto sabremos sobre al menos otras tantas novedades, ahora en proceso de investigación o de publicación. El año sexto arranca con mucha fuerza…

The last one has possibly been the hardest year, because I’m embarked on the precious project of writing my first book, but I did not want to leave the blog aside.
